Vergennes PEL Study Land Use Visioning Public Workshop - Green Route

December 13, 2023

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Panton Town Hall - 3176 Jersey Street, Panton, VT

What does the future of your community look like? The Vermont Agency of Transportation, in partnership with the Addison County Regional Planning Commission, invites you to attend a community workshop on the future uses of the land where you live and work.

If the Green route is chosen, what could happen to the land uses along the new road? Share your thoughts and vision. The Green Route includes the construction of a new roadway primarily south and east of Vergennes within Panton, Waltham and Ferrisburgh. Click here for a map of the proposed Green Route. A separate workshop will be held for each route, click here for more information.

We invite all community members: residents, workers, property owners, business owners, and visitors to attend this workshop.

Join us and share your vision and ideas! Please click here to RSVP. It is not required to RSVP, but having an estimate of attendance will help us to plan for each event. By registering, the Study team will be able to contact you in the event a workshop is postponed due to inclement weather.

What will be discussed at the workshop? During the workshops, we will discuss a vision for the land uses along one or more of the proposed routes. The following are some of the topics we will be exploring during the workshop:

  1. Explore the land uses around the proposed route.
  2. Identify preferred residential and commercial streets.
  3. Consider the walkability and bicycle usage along the proposed route.
  4. Are there adequate recreational needs for residents, families, and visitors within the region?
  5. Is there a road within the region that is reflective of the surrounding land uses that you envision the new route could be?

Can’t attend on this day? A virtual workshop will be held on January 9, 2023, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM covering all routes. Click here for additional information for the virtual meeting. Meeting Notes will be posted online on the Public Outreach page and comments can be submitted on the website here.

Need translation, interpretation, assistive devices or an ADA accommodation?  Please make a request to Patricia Martin at least 6 business days before the workshop.  802-595-6959,
